Operation September Sweeps
Emergency Rescue: 14 dogs, bred and left behind. When the breeders divorced, these dogs, mostly labrador retrievers, became collateral damage. In rural Tennessee, they have no other options. There is no county shelter; the closest shelter for a nearby town is overflowing. Local animal advocates and animal control staff have been feeding and watering the dogs while reaching out for urgent help. The puppies are thin, and the dogs have inadequate shelter to protect them from the elements.
